The opportunity:
This position presents an opportunity for a senior procurement professional to leverage their expertise and lead a centralised purchasing hub, delivering efficient, cost effective purchasing services – meeting and exceeding internal and external customer expectations. Joining an established procurement team, with an emphasis on culture – you will be supported from day one and empowered to deliver meaningful outcomes.

Responsibilities:
- Set Clear KPI’s for the purchasing team and hub, ensuring the quality of service delivery is in line with Service level agreements.
- Conduct regular audits of purchasing processes and procedures – providing reports on anomalies & deviations
- Drive use of appropriate systems for all purchasing related activity
- Maintain relationships with high transaction suppliers to ensure seamless purchasing experience, with the view to continuously improve purchasing hub.
- Negotiate with off-contract suppliers to achieve the best value from spot buy purchases
- Proactively engage with and maintain relationships with key customers on sites to ensure the purchasing team services are meeting expectation
- Deliver Training and providing advice to customers in relation to the company purchasing systems and processes.
- Provide leadership to direct reports, setting clear performance expectations, identifying training opportunities and general support.
Experience Required:
- Significant professional experience ( 5+ years) in Purchasing and procurement within the mining or construction industry
- Demonstrated experience leading a team of purchasing officers within a centralised, high volume transactional work environment
- Strong knowledge of purchasing systems
The following will be an added bonus:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or Business administration or equivalent.
- Experience with JD Edwards ERP system.
