About the role:

We are currently seeking an experienced OCE Production Supervisor to join our clients team in the Bowen Basin. You will be responsible for all day to day mining activities and ensuring compliance is adhered to & up to date with all current legislation, whilst reporting to the Production Superintendent.

As the OCE you will:

  •  Leading by example to promote safe behaviors and provide visible safety leadership to your team.
  •  Overseeing daily operations for the Production team, including organizing tasks, developing crew members, and managing performance.
  •  Implementing risk management tools and procedures in work planning and execution.
  •  Meet the statutory requirements for an Open Cut Examiner, including conducting inspections and reporting.
  • Adhering to all mine site policies and procedures.
  • Optimizing the use of shift personnel and equipment to meet mine plans and production targets.
  • Ensure all site personnel are properly trained and competent for their assigned duties.
  •  Hold monthly safety meetings with production operators.
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement program.
  • Coordinatie with Maintenance, Technical, and other Support Services to set production priorities and integrate operational requirements into production design and schedules.

Qualifications Required:

  • Certification as a Mining Supervisor
  • Hold a current QLD Open Cut Examiners Certificate of Competency & Gas certificate
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Supervisor, preferably in open cut coal mining operation
  • Experience working in a Truck / Shovel operation
  • Valid QLD Driver’s license.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong commitment to safety and a way of life
